Christie's Antique Sale

An aerial view of Christie's.
My hubbie and I have been working on some pieces for the Christie's Antique sale which will take place this Saturday Sept. 10th @ Christie's conservation area just outside of Hamilton. We are looking forward to the sale and hope for great weather and sales!

This week I'll be putting finishing touches on a few things and cleaning up some of my "smalls". When we started on this adventure of antiquing we quickly learned that to sell antique furniture it is advised to have "smalls" as well. What are "smalls" you might wonder? It is vintage or old glassware, vases, lamps, pictures, frames....anything out of the ordinary. When I'm on the lookout for these items I feel like I'm on a treasure hunt. I quite enjoy it. Here are some things that I've accumulated that I hope you find interesting.

Yes, I Know!

It has been awhile since I've posted for a few reasons. It's holiday season for one and I've been chilling and relaxing which involves reading, going to the trailer, spending time with family and doing flowers for a wedding. Oh yeah, and my camera battery charger has been missing since Holland. I've ordered a replacement and have recently received it. Boy, did I miss it! I didn't realize how much I enjoy capturing moments or pretty things with pictures.
This is one of the books that I read. I really enjoyed it. Now I'd like to see the movie.

This was the brides bouquet that I designed for Kirsty.
The lovely bride.

Summer

What a gorgeous summer it has been so far. Especially when I have it off. I just came back from our trailer "up north". I went with my parents for a couple of nights. Our family really enjoys going up and just sitting back and relaxing.
Daisies are summer to me.

This says relaxation.
A view from the lake, looking up.
I have some projects that I hope to work on for the upcoming "Christie Antique Sale" which I hope to attend in September. I'll have more info in another post as far as the location, date and times. Unfortunately I've lost my charger for my camera so for now I don't have pictures of the actual piece that I'm working on but I have some shots of inspiration shots that I'll share.
I have a piece almost exactly like this but in MUCH worse shape.

Check out the Frosted Gardener if you need some inspiration for painting furniture.

All Over the Place

Well, my initial idea of doing 3 days a week of set themes hasn't been working very well. My life right now isn't really structured. I'm still trying to figure things out.
The WingDing was disappointing. It was forecasted that there would be about 1 mm of rain. Well not so! It poured for 2 hrs. Needless to say I did sell some things including my blue trunk to a previous customer who also awhile back bought another cool wooden box that she is using for a wood box.
Both trunks have sold now. The blue one at the WingDing.

The same customer who bought the blue trunk had purchaed this wooden box last year.

Sold this cute owl.

Two of my favourite flowers. Lily of the Valley and Lilacs.

Pretty blue vases.

A great blue hinge top jar.

Summery strawberry tin.
