I've been searching out blogs to get some ideas for my

Spring Open House here at our barn and was so excited to 

come across a post from Urban Farmgirl

Here are some pictures that really give me alot of inspiration.

                          To the right is a  red screen door that I have. 

Take a look at the picture to the left.

It's really similar to mine. 

When I bought this door at an auction, 

my hubbie didn't get why I would want it.

     It's one of my favorite pieces to use for displays.

I love old windows too, above is an old church style window.

       I have a couple of regular old windows 

which are great for displays.

Direction

Wow, alot has been accomplished in the last 3 weeks.
The store has been taken apart and being stored at the house till the next event.

We celebrated Christmas on Saturday and on Monday through till Wednesday we 

worked on cleaning up. Then on Thursday morning, bright and early we left for 

Florida with my parents for 10 days. What a whirlwind. It took me 3 days to unwind from

it all. So now that I've been home for a week, I'm trying to find direction. I know what 

I obviously have to do but am having a difficult time staying focused. I think tomorrow I'll

make a list to work from and can check off when I've accomplished things. It's a weird 

feeling being home and an adjustment for me. I know I'll get there in time.

While we were away, my hubby and I celebrated our 30th anniversary!

Here we are at the beach. We enjoyed a very relaxing day at Tarpon Springs.

Last Day

Well, my last day is here at the store.

I'm just fine for those who are wondering.

This week has been a great week for sales.

I hoped so.

Many people have stopped by and said goodbye for now.

I will miss the social aspect of the store.I've met many wonderful people.

I have many coffee dates and lunches for the future planned.

Merry Christmas to one and all and thanks for all your support.

I will keep updates on what is progressing as far as my new adventure!

WOW

What an awesome day it was at the store on Saturday!

There are many reasons. 

1.My favourite reason is that the family was altogether helping me.

2.The sales were great! We sold lots of furniture as well as gifts.

3.The weather was perfect.

4.Alot of people showed their concern for the store closing and asked me what the plans were for the future

which was nice.

5.Dan put a tractor in the parade of lights and drove it most of way with 2 of his grandchildren beside him.

6.Having chili and soup upstairs in the loft for supper. 

Main Street Christmas  is probably what I'll miss most about leaving the store.

It's become a family tradition. Oh well we'll just have to make a new one.

Decorated Store

Finally, I took pictures of the decorated store.

It's always alot of work but so worth it!

I will miss the perfect setting for my stuff but hoping that

we can make our barn just as nice.
