A Few Christmas items to Share

I'm looking forward to the beginning of November so I can start setting up the store for Christmas.
I've been pricing and working on things though.
I'll be featuring a few gift items each day so you have an idea of what I have in the store.
My plan is to also give you a decorating tip, it might not be every day but I'll try.

My first decorating idea is to gather boughs and put together either with wire or twine by tying it together at the top. Make a hook at the same time so you can hang it. Add different types of evergreens and branches or pinecones and top it off with a bow. Hang on your outside door or along a fence.

New Open House Date

My date for the Christmas Open House has changed.
It will be Saturday November 13th instead.
I'm hoping to make this my best one yet!!
I love to decorate the store for Christmas.

Here's a few pics of last year and other inspirational decorating ideas.

Fall Decorating

An easy centerpiece consisting of gourds and a fall coloured candle sitting in a wooden box.
Another great idea is placing gourds on candlesticks.
Orange coloured candles will always give you that fall feeling.
Make a centerpiece by placing a wreath on a plate and centering a candle inside the wreath.

Had our family thanksgiving dinner
on Monday with the traditional walk around George's Farm.
It was a beautiful sunny weekend full of
God's blessings.

Announcement

It's with mixed emotions that I announce that Country Lane Treasures will be closing in the present location in Schomberg.I am there till two days before Christmas. I wouldn't miss Christmas on Main Street! I will be having my Christmas Open House on Saturday November 2o. I love my store and and many aspects about it but I just can't make a go there. I'm not giving up though! My hubbie and I have decided to try a few things.
One of them being, Seasonal Open Houses in our barn at home. The final details are not figured out yet. We also attended an outdoor antique show which we hope to try in the spring.
Dan and I have really enjoyed our auctions together as well as refinishing and bringing back to life old and tired pieces. He is working on a beautiful buffet right now that had layers of paint on it and is now nearly stripped and ready for a new coat of stain and varnish. Underneath the layers of paint were discovered intricate carvings on the drawers and along the front of the buffet.
Here are a few sneak peeks.
