A Move in Sight in the Future

I've been at a stand still lately, not really knowing what to blog about. I have found a new subject and
I'm so excited! We will be moving to a beautiful property in the summer.
I love so many things about it.
It has alot of trees around it. The house has character.  I'll be getting a new kitchen. The location is perfect. It isn't  far from our existing house so everything we do, church, bank, grocery stores, the mall etc. will be the same.
It's more private. There's a chicken coop and a space in the barn where I can set up a shop to do my flowers. I can go on and on. The funny thing is we weren't even looking seriously! I find it amazing and give God all the credit for leading us here. Thanks to Him!

Valentine's Day

I made some heart cookies last night to give away today to some of my loved ones. I found the recipe on Pinterest. I love that site. I've made a few other things from there too. All with good results.
Here's my version and here's the link to the "pinned" original. http://www.cookingclassy.com/2012/01/bakery-style-sugar-cookies-a-no-chill-sugar-cookie-dough/

My sweet valentine. We were buddies today.

Dan and I

My Valentine is gone for work for a few days so I won't see him but he's in my heart.
He's my man. Dan the Man  : ) LOL

Just love this song.

Oh How He Loves Us David Crowder

Greater love has no one than this,
that He lay down His life for His friends.

  Winter Wonderland

We had quite a dump of snow on Friday.

It made for school closings and people home from work and cancelled appointments.

 It's rescheduled for Monday : )

I must say after it was said and done it is a winter wonderland! The fields are white and the trees have a beautiful coat of snow. Everything looks fresh and clean. It's been awhile since there has been so much snow. Today the family got to enjoy playing in it. What a blessing family is. Thanks Lord for blessing me with them!

The New Year 2013

I'm starting the new year with a cold! I haven't been able to taste or smell for 3 days now.
I'm not liking it! So since I have low energy I'm pondering life and what the new year will bring.
Some of it I don't know, which is a blessing. What would life be like if you knew what lies ahead?
This isn't what God intended for us. We can plan for our future though and proceed with those goals.
Some of my plans are to get healthier by signing up with my hubbie at our local community gym and making better food choices.  I've followed many different eating plans in my years. Being over weight is my struggle in life. I keep trying at least. Never give up!

We have a couple of trips planned in the next 3 months. The first is in February with our boys. It will be during #1 son's reading week.
We're going to wait for the last minute deals. It kind of makes me nervous to wait that long but we also have a budget. We're not picking a particular resort right now but scoping out a few choices so that when the time comes we just have to choose the best one. Our second trip will be to Georgia. It's a work trip for hubbie but for my parents and myself it will be a pleasure trip. We went last year for a week so we know what to expect, which isn't much. LOL. It's pretty low key but our accommodation makes up for that.
Pretty nice, the inside is just as great.http://www.gastateparks.org/GordoniaAlatamaha/gallery

Savannah is 1 hour away which we checked out last year and will do so again. It's a lovely old town with gorgeous landscaped gardens and awesome old homes.

I just read this on facebook, just this minute and thought I want this on my blog. It's written by a lady who is 90. She wrote it to celebrate getting older a number of years ago.

This is something we should all read at least once a week!!!!! Make sure you read to the end!!!!!!

Written by Regina Brett, 90 years old, of the Plain Dealer, Cleveland , Ohio .

"To celebrate growing older, I once wrote the 42 lessons life taught me. It is the most requested column I've ever written.

My odometer rolled over to 90 in August, so here is the column once more:

1. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

2. When in doubt, just take the next small step.

3. Life is too short – enjoy it..

4. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick. Your friends and family will.

5. Pay off your credit cards every month.

6. You don't have to win every argument. Stay true to yourself.

7. Cry with someone. It's more healing than crying alone.

8. Save for retirement starting with your first pay check.

9. When it comes to chocolate, resistance is futile.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't screw up the present.

11. It's OK to let your children see you cry.

12. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what their journey is all about.

13. If a relationship has to be a secret, you shouldn't be in it...

14 Take a deep breath. It calms the mind.

15. Get rid of anything that isn't useful. Clutter weighs you down in many ways.

16. Whatever doesn't kill you really does make you stronger.

17. It's never too late to be happy. But it’s all up to you and no one else.

18. When it comes to going after what you love in life, don't take no for an answer.

19. Burn the candles, use the nice sheets, wear the fancy lingerie. Don't save it for a special occasion. Today is special.

20. Over prepare, then go with the flow.

21. Be eccentric now. Don't wait for old age to wear purple.

22. The most important sex organ is the brain.

23. No one is in charge of your happiness but you.

24. Frame every so-called disaster with these words 'In five years, will this matter?'

25. Always choose life.

26. Forgive but don’t forget.

27. What other people think of you is none of your business.

28. Time heals almost everything. Give time time.

29. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

30. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does..

31. Believe in miracles.

32. Don't audit life. Show up and make the most of it now.

33. Growing old beats the alternative -- dying young.

34. Your children get only one childhood.

35. All that truly matters in the end is that you loved.

36. Get outside every day. Miracles are waiting everywhere.

37. If we all threw our problems in a pile and saw everyone else's, we'd grab ours back.

38. Envy is a waste of time. Accept what you already have not what you need.

39. The best is yet to come...

40. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up.

41. Yield.

42. Life isn't tied with a bow, but it's still a gift."

Ok, this is really funny! I wanted to find out more info about the writer, Regina

Brett. She's not 90 as the link suggests. Here's the link

http://www.reginabrett.com/about.php check it out. I'm still smiling.

Lesson#43 Never trust what you read online! LOL

It's Over

I had my final day of the Country Lane Treasures Christmas Sale yesterday.
Overall I did well and am pleased with the outcome. I think this is the last sale here at the barn.
I might do some shows next season but we're going to be getting out of the furniture.
It's hard to transport furniture and also awkward and heavy. We're going to continue selling
more unique and smaller items at Christies and maybe some other outdoor sales.
Something to work on for the new year. I'm happy to be able to still attend auctions and to be able to "treasure hunt". I love doing this. Also hubbie and I enjoy doing the auctions and sales together.
So we'll see what the new year holds.
I've been playing around with ipiccy.com. For the sale I posted on different Facebook pages and tried to change the picture with the info each time I posted to make it interesting. I enjoy that. It's pretty simple to figure out, which is what I need. Give it it a try sometime.

One of the Facebook postings using ipiccy.

Another posting.

Sold this beauty.

Sneak Peak of the Barn and Decorating Tips

This set of 3 ceramic jars would add a nice touch to any shelf.

These sherry glasses were a set of 4, till someone broke one. Now they are a set of 3 tealight holders!

A glass vase wrapped with a burlap bow, filled with pinecones and acorns.

An array of items makes up this interesting display.

A plaid scarf can add a great accent for your Christmas decorations.

Use that silver platter that has been put away to display your favourite things.

Dig out a vintage pedestal glass bowl and fill it with funky wire balls.

Pinecones and wicker baskets always give you a wintery feel.

Mix old with new.

Do it! : )

Love your milk glass collection? Incorporate it into your Christmas decor.

Lots of traditional reds and greens.

A great old piece.

Gather glassware and group it together placing it on an old scarf.

Fill a pretty bowl with pinecones, ornaments and cinnamon.

Since old suitcases were made popular, they are really hard to find. Use picnic baskets instead.

If you have only 1 picnic basket put it on a table and add fun accessories.

Ornaments atop your placesetting add a nice touch.
I hope that you will be able to come to the Barn Sale. I'd love to see you!
