Bright and Beautiful

The flowers for the wedding this weekend  were a combination of orange and pinks.
It turned out beautifully.

Dahlia's, ranuculus, asters and freesia's make up this colourful bouquet.

The bride's bouquet had dahlias, ranuculus and hydrangea.

This week I had two weddings. Both of them taking place on a Friday and both brides had the name "Michelle"! Their choice of flowers and colours were different.

It's another step forward towards my flower business.
I love to create floral bouquets for weddings trying to capture
the brides vision for her wedding.
In April my daughter and new "son" were married at a beautiful venue
in Hockley Valley. I did the flowers for this special event.

Summer~ Up North

I've been able to spend a bit of time "up north".
We have a trailer that we share with my parents in the Huntsville area.
It's our little home away from home. We really enjoy the peacefulness and
quiet times when we're there. Hubby and I spent 1 week there at the
beginning of July. We had a few visitors for a night or two and enjoyed time by
ourselves too. I also got to spend time with Shannon (daughter #2) and her
little guy Logan for a couple of days. It was a wonderful time. I really enjoyed
having "Logi Bear" to myself. (well mostly) I'll be heading up again with Jan(daughter #1)
and her two girls to spend time with them on Wednesday for a few days. I'm looking forward to hanging out with them and doing crafts. Hailee already asked if we could make painted rocks. We had done that together 2 years ago and she didn't forget.

Pinterest Party

Last night my lovely daughters and I had our first

 "Pinterest Party" 

What fun it was! 

We each had to make something from Pinterest and share it.

Just hanging out with each other was something to look forward 

to but creating together was double the fun!

 I feel so blessed to be able to do this with my daughters.

Cuteness

Four little kittens who lost their mommy, were found in our barn.

The kittens have been nurtured and  lovingly cared for 

since hubby found them a week ago. 

The vet estimated them at being 4-5 weeks old. 

 Soon they will be looking for new homes.

What I'm Up To Lately

Over the last couple of days, I've been working on wedding flower quotes.

I've been asked to do 3 weddings, all in August!

After doing my daughter's wedding in April, I've realized how much I enjoy putting together different flowers and choosing the colours that compliment each other 

and then putting it all together.

There are many aspects of this job that involve different skills, not all of them equal in enjoyment. One of my favourite things is meeting with the bride and trying to capture her ideas. Other aspects are figuring out what flowers are in season,  the amount of flowers per bouquet, the type and colours to go with the colour scheme and pricing it all.

(pricing is the part that isn't as enjoyable to me)
